My robotic pool cleaner is not working properly. When I turn on the cleaner it starts up goes about 6 feet forward stops goes back 6 feet stops. Sits there and automatically shuts off. The cleaner is approximately four years old and has been very well taken care of, any suggestions out there? Thank you.

When the cleaner starts up, it does some self-tests.. That is why it moves forward, then backward, then it should test the suction motor. It sounds like the suction motor is not working..
The only suggestion I have is to remove the suction motor impeller and make sure nothing is wrapped around the motor shaft.. You have to remove the impeller to see it..
