My Active 20 die in December. Went with the E30. This thing has been a near constant headache. It's mostly app driven. I might get a week of it running it's schedule before I have to power cycle the thing for it to run again. Sometimes it doesn't respond at all -- others the light blinks a couple of times and then doesn't do anything. I'm probably going to connect it to a smart switch to cut power every night for a couple of minutes. I contacted Maytronics -- I imagine they'll want me to box it up and send it to them, which I have done six times (I think) between the 20 and and this unit.

Any advice?

Their apps are not the greatest so I generally don’t recommend people pay extra for the wifi bells & whistles.
have you tried using automation mode and just setting a schedule with a smart plug instead?
This would completely bypass the app & wifi connectivity of the device.

That's what I'm leaning toward. The app driven processes just aren't reliable.

EDIT:
Oddly, I can't find where to manually control it. I don't know where I found the info before -- number of button presses, etc. I can't find it anywhere. If I disconnect the wifi and just unplug and plug it back it in, it should start, right? I think I also have the old power supply from my active 20, which will also run it. I'd like it to run completely on it's own -- I can run it with a smart plug with my automation and let her rip.

Go on the maytronics site and look up the manual for your controller.
Here’s the one for your bot
I only know how to engage automation mode with the controller that has the weekly buttons on it- not the one with only 1 button (although I believe it is possible as its listed as a feature for your model)
Automation mode is not a described feature in the manuals - some maytronics customer service reps are not even aware of it.
