Dolphin Cleaners - confusing models/availability

Hi All,
Newbie - long time lurker.
Have 36000 Gal pool with 9ft deep-end and spa.
Pebble sheen with pop ups - just came back from a 2 week vacation to find monsoon related havoc.
The pop ups are moving the dirt around the pool - i brush it to the deep end in the morning only to find it back up in the shallows the next morning.

Planning on investing on a cleaner ... looks like most recommend dolphin on here.
Now to the model - for my size of pool looks like the supreme m5. However, i do see the nautilus plus being spoken of highly.
However, i don't see it listed on maytronics site - so who honors the warranty or parts? Will it exist in a couple of years?

Not sure what to do ... any suggestions?

Thanks.

The Nautilus only has 2 brushes that turn the same speed as the treads so it doesn't really "scrub". The M400/500 has a 3rd brush in the center that spins at a different speed than the treads so it actually scrubs the bottom. Also the Nautilus does not do the tile line.

Based on this site the Triton/Triton Plus look like the Active/S series more than the M series.
Maytronics Dolphin Pool Cleaners and Parts (Page 3)

There's an older version of the Triton Plus (only available used now) that was more or less an M400, however it does not have bluetooth, does not have the third active brush, and only has a 2 year warranty.

The new version of the Triton Plus is more or less an S300 without a caddy and has the S200 filter system (separate mesh and fine filter panels).

M500 simply has a lot more features. The M500 has over the Premier:

- Dual drive motors, meaning it can make 90 degree turns and is more maneuverable, cutting down runtime a lot
- Top loading cartridges as opposed to bottom loading cartridges/bag, no flipping the unit upside down to clean
- Comes with caddy and remote (through phone app), Premier has you buy them separately. Remote is basically useless on the Premier anyway because it can't make turns, can only adjust cycle time
- Active 3rd brush that helps not only with actually scrubbing the pool but navigating over main drains
- M500 runs up to 3.5 hours, Premier only runs 2.5 without remote, meaning you'll definitely need to run it twice or 3 times to cover the whole pool
- Also can't find any info on what exactly is covered in the warranty, Premier doesn't say bumper to bumper, whereas the M500 does.

Too bad the Maytronics warranty is voided when you buy it online.

Well, not exactly ..........at least there is some warranty from PoolPartz .
The refurbished Dolphins from PoolPartz include a 1 year warranty , BUT it has to be sent back to Maytronics for repair.
(Hence the reason I kept the shipping box for my S300 , purchased from PoolPartz . Just incase ! So far, no issues with mine what so ever.)

Yes but PoolPartz is selling the M500 as new in box online, not refurbished. That's enough to void the warranty.

Gotcha !

It does state on the PoolPartz website that the new M500 has a 3 year warranty though .

Its in pretty bold writing on their website !

" Supreme M500 and Oasis Z5 include 3 year warranty with
BRAND NEW, NEVER OPENED BOX!
AUTHORIZED DOLPHIN DEALER SINCE 2011 "

Pool Partz says they are offering 3 years on the m500 new robot.

If they're offering a 3 year warranty they're either lying to your face or it's only with them. Because the terms and conditions you agree to when you purchase state:

"WarrantyAll products are covered by the original manufacturer's warranty.

For the refurbished units, in the unlikely event that it is defective or missing parts all warranty/repair work will be performed by the manufacturer and you would contact them directly for the return of the equipment to one of their repair facilities. Shipping is paid for by the manufacturer for those units that are within the warranty period. Please contact Pool Partz if you have any questions on submitting a warranty request with the manufacturer."

So if the manufacturer's warranty is voided then you have no warranty.

Where does it state anywhere that the warranty is voided ?
I know that I had to register my refurbished S300 with Maytronics for warranty purposes when I purchased it , and they give some paperwork with the unit on the warranty process as well . Yes, it does have to go back to Maytronics for warranty , but I can live with that ............thats why I kept the factory Maytronics shipping box . That doesnt mean the warranty is void .
All the refurbished units sold by PoolPartz are shipping directly from Maytronics anyway .

From the paperwork you recive from Maytronics .............

"Dear Valued Dolphin Customer,

Thank you for your purchase of a Certified Pre‐Owned Dolphin pool cleaner! You have made a wise
choice! All certified pre‐owned Dolphin cleaners have been thoroughly inspected and re‐conditioned by
our own Maytronics factory trained technicians. We adhere to a strict 12‐point inspection system to
ensure that your Dolphin will meet both your expectations and ours.

Certified pre‐owned Dolphins come with a full one‐year warranty and are guaranteed to perform to the
same standards as our brand new Dolphins. . "

As for the brand new in the box M500 ..........it clearly states it has a 3 year warranty .
They are closeouts for the model that is being disconnected , M500 . They are probably shipping directly from Maytronics as well , if I had to guess.

First, Dolphin does NOT make it very obvious on their website that their warranty is void if purchased over the internet.

Second, Pool Partz looks to be offering refurbished units with one year manufacturer warranty. New units could be their own warranty.

Also, Doheny's offers the Dolphin Triton with manufacturer warranty.

There is a big red sticker right on the outside of the M500 box that says "Stop: Our limited factory warranty is void if you purchase this Maytronics products from any internet site, and this product purchased from any internet site is sold as is, with all faults."

Also in the product brochures for the Active, S and M series there's a disclaimer on the bottom of the first page that says the same thing. You can download them on the Maytronics website.

M Series
S Series
Active Series

Factory refurbished units do not fall under this rule though. Only new in box products.

If Pool Partz is selling them as new with a warranty, it has to be only through them. Maytronics won't service it, and any Maytronics service center won't service it.

There are online only units though, those are anything under the "Nautilus", "Triton", "Z", and "Premier" lines.

EDIT: The only way I see them getting around this is that it's new old stock 2016 models with remotes instead of bluetooth, still questionable though.

This is from Maytronics:

Report Internet Sales Violation
Did you know that only certain lines of Maytronics Robots can be sold online? They are as follows:

Nautilus and Triton
Oasis Z5
Advantage and Advantage Plus
Commercial Blue Line (HD, 3001, PROX2, 2x2)

If you know of anyone selling restricted models online, please let us know so that we can respond accordingly.

https://maytronicsus.com/dealers-distributors/contentpage/report-internet-sales-violation

Not sure what will happen if you buy an M500 online and then have a warranty claim, but I'd be checking with Maytronics before I bought one to verify it will be covered or not.
