Dog tie out stakes for pool cover

Anyone try to use stakes like the ones used for dogs to tie down a ag pool cover instead of the winch or hanging bleach jugs?
First time covering the pool and not sure exactly which way to go.

Interesting idea. How solid is the ground you would screw it into? Does the ground get muddy and loose when wet like when snow is melting? What type of tiedowns will you use with it? Will the tiedows be a trip hazard in the yard?

If you do use them screw them into the ground at a 45 degree angle away from the pool. They are likely to not pull out from that angle.
