Does this mean a suction side leak?

I got a new pump which was the same horsepower. Typically my pressure gauge was at 18 PSI. The new pump reads 13 and doesn't seem to be sucking near as hard. As you can see in the picture four of the lid "Chambers" show some air. Does this look like an issue to you guys?

I am not a pump guy, but 2 HP is just for the motor part, the Pump part can be very different depending on the impeller and design...

Tell us more about the pump you took out and the pump you just installed... and maybe one of our pump experts can chime in..

Is the new pump a single speed pump or variable speed?

Took out a Hayward pump and motor and replaced with a harris proforce. The Hayward pump is so old that it doesn't show the model number anymore

Usually, you see lots of little bubbles with a suction side leak. If you just see a single big bubble that just kinda lives there, it may just be one that isn't getting removed by the normal water flow.
