Does Sodium hypochlorite (12.5) raise cya?

How soon after I know algae is gone can I start using pro teams metal magic again. I have some slight staining of liner but going thru with shocking treatment until I do it right.
It would be best to add the maintenance dose after shocking is done and FC has returned to normal/maintenance levels.

See chem geek's post on first page.

I just thought I read shocking pool lowers ph. Knowing I have metals in water and high ph can cause likelihood of staining should I still wait to lower it or lower it a little not knowing what the reading is? I'm definately using ALOT of sodium hyperchlorite. I'm just not sure how long I'll have to keep chlorine so high. Right now I'm going into 3'rd night of trying to keep fc at around 21ppm as cya is 80. Can you recommend anything to do now other than just keep the fc up? I know I can't get an accurate ph reading at this point.

I'm going away saturday for a week so I hoped I'd have a grasp on it then. Water clear with light metal staining on walls from maintaining high FC reading. Test kit still gives me readings of cc. I have minimul at best algae drop and have run my pool continuously for past 2 days. I have no algae blooms. Do others run pool 24/7 for a week at at time?
