Does Bio-Active really work for reducing CYN levels?

Has anyone had any success with using a product called Bio-Active for reducing very high CYN levels....it has been on the market for 2-3 years now. I have tried it but not have had any success with reducing my numbers which hover around 150 ppm....I was thinking of trying it one more time, before it gets really hot out here in Phoenix, but I know this product sucks the chlorine out of the water, and creates a chemistry imbalance that lasts for 2-3 weeks, not to mention cannot get the chlorine back to normal levels....which has been my experience. Thanks for your response!

No. Search the forum (see the search box in upper right corner). There were several tries. Even had the manufacturer post on the forum. They quit when it was obvious the product could not perform.

From your other threads I think you should try draining some water to get your CYA and possibly your CH lower. You would need to do it over night to best manage keeping your plaster from cracking.

Good luck.

Some of the RO treatment services are not worth it. They use under-powered RO equipment and they can have terrible efficiencies (large waste fractions). You wind up using a lot of your own water for makeup volume and they typically tie into your electrical system to power the filter pumps.

It's almost ALWAYS cheaper to drain and refill.
