Does anybody regret with dark blue pool - Latham?

Our old liner cracked and we got it replaced last month. I selected Latham Colbat Fusion because my daughter liked the color effect shown on the phone. To be honest, I did not think about the effect I liked the most at that time. I even did not explore the Latham website carefully and make the decision.

Now, I am struggling with this deep blue pool as I lost the feeling of having a vacation at the beach! I am considering another replacement this year and the pool company can offer a discount. However, it's still costly and waste. Can anybody share your experience with a dark color pool and let me know what's the good side of it?

With sunshine, it looks pretty. But when it's cloudy, it's darker.

Well, it is only money to replace it!
I really like the dark colors, so have done similar in the last 2 liner replacements. BUT...sun and chems do bleach it out, so it gets lighter and lighter. Currently at year 5, and it is more of a tropic blue than a deep Gulf Stream blue like yours. My last, after 14 years, was pretty much white with only a faint stippling of mild blue pattern. My companies always leave a swatch of liner to be used for patching, if needed. That's when the difference is most striking - but if I'm at the patching stage, I'm at the replacement stage.
I do have the belief that darker helps warm the pool more, so I don't have to fire up the heater as much. But no real basis for that justification.

Want to blow your mind because the grass isn't always greener ? I've had 2 liners.

YMMV. 😁

Good to know that it does fade along with time. Mine is print on blue I am afraid it will still show dark blue in all future years.

The dark liner was mostly shaded too, while the light one has wide open blazing sunshine. 🤷‍♂️

It's all about where you're standing, how bright it is today and how blue the sky is.
I've been struggling with this "change or not" decision for a month....
Trust me. We all have the coulda/shoulda/woulda-s.

At the end of the day, you built a spectacular pool. They're all beautiful in their own right. :)

You get me. I am not very happy with the liner not only because of the result but also the selection process. I always told myself IF I explored the website carefully we would not pick this one, and it could be a brighter effect and add a tropical vibe to the yard, blablalba..... Your response of "they are all beautiful in their own right" did rescue me. Thank you.

I had similar buyer's remorse a couple months ago, but now love it. It's just what you're used to! Mine was even worse than yours, honestly. And it has this glittering effect where the different walls look EXTREMELY different depending on if the sun is hitting it or not. All that goes away when the pool water is moving, though, and the sparkle is really nice. Goods and bads. Wouldn't choose this one again, but it is still light years better than the liner it replaced.

Our previous one is super light. The liner was almost faded to be white. Our neighbor's pool is very light blue also. I never experienced dark blue ones before. Hope time helps me get used to it.

You can try complaining to friends when they visit, but it won't go well. They'll be too 'Woohoo a beautiful pool' to care.

Ask me how I know. 😁

It doesn't even matter about what. This is crooked or that isn't right and you lost the race because they're already in there enjoying it.
