Subject line says it all. I feel so dumb for asking, but I couldn't find anything about it when I read the manual (Warrior SI) other than the troubleshooting page at the end, which mentioned a potential cause of one problem being that "pool filter and pump is on." If I hadn't read that, it would have never occurred to me that maybe it should be off while running the robot. Thanks in advance!

Sometimes the robot runs with the pump and sometimes not.
I suspect it was about it getting hung up on a main drain. You should not have much of any draw through your main drain, if you have one.

Great question Sarah. I briefly looked for an answer to that question today. I tried out my new warrior se for the first time this afternoon. As I was setting everything up I wondered do I run my pool pump at the same time or not. I decided to do so. Ultimately I just want to get the best cleaning possibly. I’ll be curious to hear what others do.
My pump runs during the day, so I usually run the robot early in the morning or later at night, letting the the dirt or whatever settle to the bottom for it to pick up.
I've been running my new Warrior SE with the pump off. Since it’s spring, there’s a lot of small debris from my yaupons on the pool floor. The robot has a better shot at picking it all up when the water isn't moving it around. I have also run it with the pump running but for my pool it does a better job with it off. If there's stuff floating, I will either skim it with a net or run the pump for a few min after the SE is finished and send it to the skimmers.

I just received my first robot about a month ago and also wondered whether running it while the pump was running would be detrimental. After a month i dont think there's any harm in running the robot with the pump on, but I may call Maytronics just to verify.

I never even thought about that. My pump is usually on when we run ours. No issues and it still cleans pretty good.
Unless you have the pump pulling from the main drain, I can't see why it would matter.

We're in our third season and I have run the robot a TON of times, with the pump on and off. In my experience, it simply doesn't matter.
My pump runs 24/7, so the robot has ONLY run with the pump on. Runs great. Can't imagine what difference it would make, other than I guess it ~could~ get pushed away from a return on the wall. (though I have yet to see that happen) I tried running it with the main drains totally closed and it still got hung up on the drain cover occasionally, same as with the drain open. So the pump being off wouldn't affect that either, at least in my experience.
Not a dumb question at all.
I noticed that my Dolphin Proteus DX5i was being pushed away by my pool return jets when it was scrubbing the tile, so now I typically try to run the cleaner with the pump off. Otherwise there are no concerns or issues with running both at the same time.
