Hi. Installing an above ground pool on a flat area. Do you need agi around the pool area or is it overkill? I ask as installing agi will be a major pain

You might need to do something to keep the water away from the house. If the pool ever develops a leak or there is a significant amount of splashing, water could collect in the area between your house and pool. A quick Google search results in at least 10 ft from pool to house here in the US but that can vary.

You're looking at the base of where the above ground pool is going and yeah I think you guys call agi a French drain.
The local pool guy said as its above ground and flat you can just coat the metal lining in fish oil to prevent rusting. Thoughts?

What is that metal bar, and what is the orange paint meant to signify? What size and type of pool? It’s not meant to partially sit on those pavers, is it?
