Pool wasn’t going clear so opened filter to find very green grids and some tears at the top. See pics

I don’t see any glaring holes in the main grids though. Is this my issue when running and do I need to replace the grids that are ripped?

Yup. Those tears are going to allow DE and particulates through. You’ll never get the pool clear.

Also check your manifolds inside the filter. They can get cracks in them which will also lead to DE returning to the pool. Make sure they are in good shape and also check the o-ring at the top of the pipe that the filter grids attach to.

Thank you. I opened it up, replaced the grids and put back together. Shocked the pool and its back clear and not recirculating green like before. As it was very green before is it worth recleaning the grids again now with the pool clean or just leave now?
