Do I Need To Clean The Filter After Vacuuming Fertilizer?

The lawn by my pool was fertilized today and some white (and a few black) granules ended up in my pool (maybe 1 Tablespoon). We manually vacuumed them up. Do I need to clean my filter if there is a bit fertilizer in it? Most of the material landed on the solar cover which is due for replacement so I'll order that tonight.

I would. You do not want all the fertilizer dissolving in your pool water (metals, etc).

I agree with Jason. I'd clean it out ASAP. There could be Iron Sulfite in there, and plenty of stuff that fertilizes algae.

Good thinking to vacuum it up so fast.

Absolutely. The fertilizer granules in your filter may continue to dissolve and end up in your water. It needs to be gone: out of your pool, filter, etc.
