Do i need a different test kit for pools with SWG?

Hello all, im on the process of buying a test kit, looking at the K-2006C or the TF-Pro kit, but when i went to the TF-Pro website i saw they sell a TF-Pro Salt and was wondering if i have a SWG if i need to get that salt kit? What is the difference between it and the regular TF-Pro? is it to determine salt levels in ppm? My old hayward did that for me, it displayed the salt in ppm on the SWG control box, dont they all do that?

The TF-Pro Salt includes the TFP recommended Taylor reagents for the drop-based salt test (basically a Taylor K-1766 kit). It also includes the Smart Stir which makes testing easier and more accurate. The PRO versions come with a real nice case. You won't regret it.

The TF ProSalt is the same as the Regular TF Pro but it includes a salt test. Some members just rely on the salt indicator on their SWG but many find they want the reassurance of a more reliable salt test like the one found in the TF Pro Salt.

The TF-Pro Salt with SmartStir comes with everything you need (including salt test reagents) plus the "SmartStir" which is a "nice to have as it makes the mixing during testing much easier. The K-2006C, TF-100 and TF- Pro kits lack the salt test reagents so you would need to get either the Taylor K-1766 Salt Test Kit or the TF-100 Salt Test Kit separately (and yes, you will want to have those for testing).

Miguel,

You never want to trust the salt level that cell reports. While it could be correct, it could also be way off. You always want a way to verify what the cell thinks the salt level is vs. the actual salt level.

If you have a saltwater pool, you want the TF-Pro - Salt.

It is an even better bargain than the TFpro which is the TF100 with a really nice case and a $44 stirring device.
