It's certainly a lot of work, but it should be worth it. I'm also hoping the walls are good for another 30+ years after this, because I'm definitely not doing this ever again.

Get one of those lint removers and see if that helps at all with the itching. That is the worst feeling!
I used surface bonding cement instead of a scratch coat on my block wall and it worked great for holding the Drylok. Just make sure everything’s clean and damp before applying.
