Diverter Valves With Unions?

Getting ready to order a few diverter valves and a check valve or two. Should I be concerned about getting valves that have built-in union connectors or just get glue (cement) togethers? I'm probably overthinking it in that if I have to redo some plumbing and run out of cemented in pipe to cut, I'll have to buy a whole new valve.

Normally valves are in some pretty tight places so not always easy to install a union with it. Also, if you using something similar to Jandy neverlube valve then you can repair it by taking the top off so no need to remove it from the plumbing.
So if you have the room then adding unions doesn't affect the plumbing but it does cost more which is why you do not see unions being used even on some pump installations. If it is a device such as a SWCG that you would remove to clean it, then unions make more sense. Also, if you are just using the standard 1 piece body valve then that has to be removed to be either repaired or replaced so on those it may make sense to put a union.

Inyopools has valves with or without but it's not clear what brand are the ones with unions.
