Dissolving Boric Acid?

Can I dissolving granular Boric acid in 5 gallon bucket with pool water, then just pour in front of return? I'm being lazy and don't want to brush. Besides that, Nascar race is on at Watkins Glen and don't want to miss watching it.;) According to PoolMath, I need to add 14 pounds.
 
You're going to find that 5 gallons of water is not sufficient to fully dissolve 14lbs of boric acid. I would just add it in two batches and brush. It dissolves very quickly. Up to you if you want to do the extra work of dissolving it in a bucket, just messier that way.
