Disabling booster pump

I hope I am in right spot. New pool owner and new to site. My new to me pool has a very cruddy pressure side cleaner. Prior owner took his new kreepy krawler. Thus I am looking to replace with robotic. In doing so can I just turn off booster pump or must I remove it and put in new pvc in its place. Thanks

Welcome to TFP!

You can leave it there. I did the same a year ago and mine is still there for now. Some day it will start leaking and I will connect the input and output pvc lines together to close the loop.

Thanks for the welcome. So you would basically remove the cleaning cycle thereby stopping the booster and water just flows through. Unhook dead pressure side cleaner and drop in bot

Yes, cleaning cycle off and a little water still flows through when the pump is running. Toss the pressure cleaner in the trash and get ready for a clean pool!

Removed mine last year after purchasing a [emoji880]. But we were also replumbing at the time.
