Dirty water surface? not moving enough?

So lately i been noticing the top of my water is dirty like full of dirt... I tried speeding up the pump, and closing the pool bottom suction only leaving the skimmer suction on, but didnt help... any other suggestions???

Are you using a skimmer sock (hair net or paint strainer net) in the skimmer? It helps to catch the small stuff. Now if you feel there's a circulation issue, experiment with some ping pong balls or packing peanuts on the water to see how well they move. Then you can adjust your return jets if needed. Also remember that if your wind is pushing the opposite way of the skimmer, there's not much you can do about that.
