I never put the screw cover back on for my umbrella holder in baja shelf last summer. I just noticed that hole is full of leaves. Any ideas how to clean that out? I imagine it's 12" deep at the minimum. Besides those leaves, the pool is crystal clear and balanced.

I never got a cover and never thought about mine until a few days ago when I noticed some cloudy water in there. Otherwise my water is clear and numbers are good.

I'm anxious to know the answer about cleaning it...

I just stick the umbrella in the hole and push it up and down several times - it will flush it out as it acts like a pump...

edit: the "dry" ones on our concrete deck outside the pool are a bit dirtier as rain water and run-off can settle into them, and we leave an umbrella in them for long periods - whereas the in pool ones the umbrellas are always taken out before we cover the pool with our auto-cover. The outside ones get pretty nasty over the winter. The in pool ones not near as bad.
