Is there a way to wire my SWG directly to my pump? The Hayward ecostar has its own clock (which most you you probably know) so I don't have it connected to the analog timer.
Currently my SWG is always powered on and only dependent on the flow switch.

Not directly.

One good solution so you are not relying on the flow switch (which is meant to be a backup), is to install a current sensing relay on the pump power supply that would close and give power to the SWG when the pump is running and drawing current.

Or just add a separate timer to switch the SWG off and on. I'm using the timer that switched the pump before I went to a VS pump. I just set it to turn the SWG on during a time I know the pump is set to be running. The flow switch is still there as a safety back-up.

It is important to not rely on the flow switch as the only control over power to the SWG. It was designed to serve only as a backup safety device, not a primary switch. Should the SWG be powered up without water flowing it can result in an explosion. It is rare, but it can and has happened to some forum members.
