I am having difficulty priming my infinity edge pump after filter cleaning. After cleaning the filter media and reassembling the filter, I opened the pump lid and cleaned the strainer basket. Afterward I filled pot only to have the water backflow into the basin (which was full). I did this several times, allowing the pump to operate for a few minutes, and couldn’t prime the pump. I then tried filling with a water hose and had the same result - could not prime the pump. I tried blocking in the suction valve which enabled me to fill the pot but after turning the pump on and opening the valve I still was unsuccessful. I also tried different valve open/close combinations to no avail.

My basin is about 60’ away and 6’ lower than the pump.

Suggestions?

Look for an air leak...

Finally succeeded but the pump seemed to have run forever. I was surprised that the pump would run that long w/o the auto shut-off kicking in.
