TA 70
pH 7.8
Salt 3100

I am trying to lower my TA to 50 or 60 so that the ph doesn’t rise so quickly and hopefully finds a stable point around 7.8

I’ve been adding acid to lower ph to 7.2 then run my spa bubbles for 5 to 6 hours after. I’ve been doing this for a couple months and the TA slowly is coming down but it’s taking a lot of work. if I stop the TA starts rising pretty quickly again.

I ran a TA on my tap water and it’s 90. Am I just screwed and am going to always have a continually rising TA or is there something else I can do to keep it lower?

Kind of the nature of the beast. Except in rare situations, every time we add fresh water the TA climbs. I just get in the habit of knowing whenever I need to add water to the pool, be ready to add acid.

Can I lower my ph more than 7.2 to try to get the TA lower? It comes back up to around 7.5 within a day basically.

In other words, how long can my pH be too low before it causes damage?
