Did Leslie’s take me to the cleaner

Never a stupid question. You're new and we all remember what that was like. :)

The PH meter and standard sizer are not needed but are fun for the folks who like toys. The SLAM option is the only add on I'd get personally with the TFpro-salt. If getting the TF100salt with SLAM option, add the speed stir also. It's a game changer.

Neither the borate or salt strips are very accurate. They are ok for spot checks but as with strips start degrading the moment you open the seal.
Gotcha, thank you for clearing that up for me. Looking forward to doing my own test on the pool

The Powder Plus appears to be cal-hypo which will increase your CH level. Unless you have a waterline tile or heater, you shouldn't need much CH in a FG pool, but if your CH is low, you can use it for a while until the CH gets to about 200-250, then I would stop. But be sure to confirm your CH with your own proper test kit first to be sure. Same goes for all levels. Don't rely on their testing that's for sure.
Yeah, I’m done with them. The only time I’m going back is to return $400 worth of chemicals 🤦🏻‍♂️

When using the liquid cya it’s important that you use the entire bottle not just part of it as the cya has a tendency to get stuck in the bottle. Also rinsing the bottle thoroughly & pouring that in the pool too.
I would use 2 whole gallons for now.

Here’s what 2# of that cal hypo will do

Thanks, that is a big help until I have some time to get my test kit and figure this out on my own.

Sounds like you avoided getting taken for a ride! I had a similar experience. The manager explained patiently to me that "you won't know this," but "for summer, you'll need a couple buckets of the shock over there" ($300 a pop), plus some Mighty Brighty ($$$), and a couple of gallons of Ultimate Pool IV ($$$$) just to be safe. Just didn't sit right. I did buy a brush, though, as I did need one. Don't do that either - that unbranded Chinese garbage broke after a couple of months, and Lesilie's warranty policy is you-what-now?
I find that when people obfuscate things, they usually have a reason. They're selling a range of entirely pedestrian chemicals (some useful, some not at all) and give them cute names to confuse the marks, and nix any price comparison urges that arise, before they hit them up for more cheese.
