I live in a little cool spot of the city. We have lots of trees - massive in size. Mine (Magnolia, Elderica Pine, Fern Pine, Myrtle and Jacaranda) keep my yard a good 10 degrees cooler than other parts of the city. In fact, it's one of the issues with my pool. I have two trees overhanging. But, they're so beautiful and keep things so cool that I deal with the debris. On the bright side, Phoenix has a great football team.

For CYA, I actually use nylon knee highs. Split it between two knee-highs. Let it soak for about 20 minutes and then begin massaging. Repeat this process a couple times and it should dissolve quickly.

I'm always amazed at how helpful these forums are. They're unlike anything I ever find on other forums. Thanks for that resource. I read the whole thing and it gave me a refresher on the importance of CY/liquid chlorine combos. In the past, the only issue I had after settling on the right CYA/Chlorine mix is that my PH could get high (up to about 8). So, I will probably need to buy some muriatic acid. Again, thanks for having such a handy resource at your fingertips. There's a lot of information on this site and your article helped me get off to a good start.

Yeah, I bought what looks like white nylon stockings that hold the CYA. It can take some time but I will try squeezing it more this time. Thanks!
