Did I destroy brand new pump?

Technical support is horrible at in the swim where i purchased the pump. Pump started and then died within a few seconds so I pulled the cover off to see what happened. Appears maybe the capacitor failed. Did I wire it up wrong? Pics attached or old pump wiring and new. The last two pics are the old pump.

No telling what was damaged. You at least need a centrifugal switch. Other than that, it’s hard to tell.

Note that you have two capacitors.

The one in the back is a “Start” capacitor.

The one on top in the hump is a “Run” capacitor.
