We've had some issues with raccoon feces in the pool in the past and are looking for a good way to deter them. I found these plastic spike strips that look like they might work. I was thinking of attaching them to 2x6's and making a perimeter around the pool with them. Has anyone tried these out before? Or are there any better ways to deter the raccoons?

Thanks in advance!

I have not seen any successful method for keeping them out on TFP...except a gun (NO, I am not recommending it, and is likely illegal)

Trapping may work.

Try it and see what happens. Let us know.

All the racoon threads on TFP...

Those look like bird strips. Birds won't perch on them, but raccoons would likely gleefully jump over them into the pool, and then... be unable to climb out because of the bird strips.

Thanks for all the replies. Maybe trapping is the way to go. Still thinking of other ideas too. There is a leaf net available. That might keep them out, and I might be able to attach it to the existing studs we use for the winter mesh safety cover.
