Oops....overlooked that note. Was only counting the drops as a whole# on a 10 ml sample.Yes so don't rinse and follow up with CC reagent?

My error overlooked the note of drops to decimal. No, we know the directions. But sometimes folks misunderstand them anyway..... so we're checking to confirm.
It was really *that many* drops?!?

He was testing up until 7/3.Was your husband testing the same way?
CYA isn’t going to go from 40 to 10 in a day unless you drained and refilled your pool. Or if you have ammonia. Are you sure you are doing this test correctly?
Thank youA nylon scrubber or brush and some diluted chlorine. rinse. repeat as necessary.
Should filter be cleaned afterwards? New sand?Thank you
With mustard algae filtering thru it? I think this is the best route. I've been SLAMMING this pool since 05/25. It has not cleared and I cannot physically continue that route. Scrubbing an empty pool seems do able. One can clean sand without changing it out.
Sand rarely needs changing out unless its gummed up with FLOC or Clarifiers, or Baqua.
He was counting it right.I remember you saying he was testing up until recently just was curious if he too was counting one drop as one or if he was multiplying by .5. But now you know. Good luck with your drain/refill. Hope y’all are able to swim soon!
I just stated I'm new at testing. I made an error on my calculation. So I'm draining and refilling. To #1 clean/kill this algae. #2. Get my chemistry right. Why are you adding MA? Your pH is inaccurate with FC above 10ppm.
