I have been using a Stenner pump for the last ~year with a 8 gallon buckets as a reservoir for the chlorine. I've noticed white deposits sides of the bucket and am wondering whether I should do anything about it.
1. Are these calcium deposits or something else?
2. If I don't clean it off will they redissolve into the chlorine, or will they be inactive and benign on the sides of the bucket?
3. I assume if I do need / want to clean them off I will need a lot of soaking and scrubbing with vinegar?
I assume if I don't clean it off, then after maybe 5 or 8 years it will get so thick that I would either want to try to pry/chip off the calcium or just replace the bucket if I can still get it (~$40 for a specialty rectangular bucket that fits the space perfectly).
