Deionized water to calibrate PH meter?

Hello! When I ordered my test kit from tfptest kits.com, I also got the PH-009(I)A pen type pH meter.
I am attempting to calibrate it for the first time and it says it needs 250 mL of deionized water. I did a quick search for deionized water And apparently it’s not just something I can get from the local grocery store. How are you guys getting deionized water and is it critically important or can I use something else?

I use distilled water which in most cases is more pure than deionized water, but has no guarantees of removing absolutely all ions.
