I am in the process of building a deck around my 24' round pool, and am stumped as to what to do for the steps going up to the deck.

I know some of you have done this type of thing before, and would welcome some advice/build plans to accomplish the task.

The pool is 52" tall, and the deck is slightly taller, maybe 54" at the pool side, but the ground is anything BUT level.
I am going to need room to the right in the pictures (the left of the uprights that have the electrical) to be able to get into the barrel that holds my chlorine for the Stenner.
In the last picture, I placed a full length (8' long) deck board on the ground, so you can see how much room I have to work at the narrow part.
The deck is being built in sections that are shorter at the pool, and kind of pie shaped so it will follow the pool around. Each section is 8' deep measuring from the pool out.

Any ideas?

Why wouldn't you just get some stringers and build a proper set of steps like you would for any elevated deck? Maybe I am not understanding what you are asking for.

Also I cannot make out the construction of your deck but you should have wood supporting the deck from the top of the deck to the ground. It looks as though you have just put in some bolts which are in what is called "sheer" and not proper for safe deck construction. If that is how this is built I urge you to correct that.

you either have to go up on one of the ends of the deck and use a stair stringer cut for the height and amount of steps you need, or go in the back between a section where you have posts for a railing and attach there head on. Make sure you use the proper connectors for your lumber, here in NJ we have frost heaving and all the footings would be 42"deep w plate connectors and the deck joists would sit on a girder or they would be hung w hangers into a rim joist beam w a notched and bolted post

My neighbour said the same thing, until I told him to look underneath. His reaction was (insert adult word here) "You could drive a truck across that!"
I have it reinforced 4 different ways. The end you are looking at has not been done yet because I didn't know how I was going to do the steps. I knew that I would have to do SOMETHING when I put steps in, but didn't know quite WHAT yet.
The rest of the construction is pretty much square timber construction (2 2X8 boards bolted together by 1/2" all-thread resting on top of the supporting pillars).
I wanted something that I could move according to how I was going to do the stairs, if necessary.
