Dead pump question...

My Hayward pool pump has been humming for about 10 seconds before it will turn on for the past month or so. I've been meaning to replace the capacitor but haven't gotten around to it. Today it hummed for about 10 seconds and then went silent. I've tried turning it on and off several times and get nothing. Should I try a new capacitor or is it most likely a dead motor at this point? Thanks

Just checked the breaker and it wasn't tripped. Flipped the switch and the motor hummed for about 12 seconds and then started up. Hopefully it will run until this weekend when I have time to put a new capacitor in. I hope that's all that's causing this issue. Thanks!
