They went in fresh and drowned. They were technically swimmers until, well, they weren’t.
a drop in the proverbial bucket for 11.9k gallons of properly treated water.
Mine collected moles/voles. They would run across the pavers and fall in. I’d find one a week per season in the skimmer. 40 years and a small fortune trying every trick in the book and all it took was a pool.
I just fetch the critter out of the bottom of the pool or skimmer and toss them into the bushes. I don't do anything to the FC level. I figure my FC level that I run a few ppm high will take care of all types of swimmers.
Mice? I gotta laugh. Try raccoons and possums. Broke my skimmer net getting the possum out last week. He was alive, swimming laps, and he put up a fight!
Try frog logs. Since we put them in, we’ve had almost no dead critters. Of course, that means they’re still swimming, just getting out, toweling off, and going to get their friends for a killer party.
We get mice in our pool too. Just scoop them out, dispose, and be on your way. If you makes feel better, you can bump up your chlorine but I don't bother.
This is our first season owning a pool. Since May we’ve had 2 voles, 1 baby bird, stag beetles and countless other bugs. The hairnet is amazing at keeping the disposal process simple and painless.
