Dead algea

So frustrated! We hired a pool maintenance company and he has cleared the water up really well. Now...If we try and brush or vacuum ..poooffff smoky cloud. Pretty sure it’s dead algae. How do I get this out of our pool. It’s a 24 foot round above ground. 22” waterway filter with zeolite sand. 1 1/2 hp pump. Run it 12 hours a day. Water is clear except for this dusty stuff at the bottom. Tried vacuuming to waste but it just makes a cloudy mess. Help! On.y had the pool a month. Pipes were hard piped backwards to begin with but that has been corrected now obviously. I’m to the point of tearing this brand new pool down and saying screw it. We have family coming for the weekend and I just wanted it to be beautiful.

Welcome to the forum! :handshake:
The presence of dead algae implies you still have active algae in the pool. Do you have your own test kit? You most likely need to SLAM Process but that requires a proper test kit.

If you would just like to remove the particulates in your pool you can try vacuuming to waste. But that depends on if your pool equipment is set up for it.

I suggest you read Pool School - ABCs of Pool Water Chemistry and consider reviewing the entire Trouble Free Pool School book.
