DE in sandfilter removing stabilizer ??

I have a strong feeling that when I am using diatomaceous earth in my sandfilter (searching for max clarity), it seems to be removing my stabilizer as well.

I do wait at lest a week after adding stabilizer before I do any backwash.

Anybody that could enlighten me in this problem ?

DE is not capable of removing CYA from your pool.

Don't add cya in your skimmer, and this problem will be solved

To lower cya, it is drain or ro

Is that specific to this setup? I always add it to skimmer , but just have regular filter.

No chemicals should be added directly through the skimmer. CYA in a sock can be left in the skimmer if your pump is on the entire time.
