DE filter leaking ... but from where??? Need help

The pictures are of my DE filter, there is a water leak somewhere. Water pools at the base as you can see, I've checked and verified that it is not leaking from the relief valve on top or the seal in the middle. Its not leaking from the drain plug ( put a bowl under that), and its not leaking from the main in/out lines on the left side either. Its definitely coming from the filter itself but I can't determine where from. Any ideas?

Spray powder liberally around the filter. Tracks from the water leak will show in the powder. This is a way oil leaks are found in engines.

Do you notice the leak more when the pump is running? Sometimes the bottom of the vessel will get a hairline crack that opens up under pressure when the pump is running.

It definitely leaks more when the pump is running on hi speed. I can't detect any leaking when the pump is on low speed. I was able to get under it this morning and through one of the holes in the feet I can see water on the bottom of of the filter vessel dripping down to the concrete pad. I suspect you are right and that it does have a crack, is there an accepted method of repairing this do you know?

Filter is a pressure vessel and cracks cannot be repaired. Time for a new filter ASAP. If the crack gives way you will have a big mess as well as possible danger. Consider turning the pump off until you replace the filter.

I agree. It is time to replace the filter. The filter vessel flexes as it pressurizes and depressurizes. Eventually that crack will grow under the stress. Sometimes you can find the bottom half of the vessel for sale at places like Inyo pools. The best way to tell if the filter needs to be replaced is to remove it from the plumbing and take it apart so you can give it a good inspection.

Thank you for the tip! I was able to find the part at Inyo and a few other suppliers. In the comments people mentioned that the bottom is not being made thicker so they had to make some new fittings for it, do you know what they are referring to?
