Dark swampy green pool TF-100 reagent test

Sta-Rite = Pentair. That is the manual for your slide valve.

See the Pentair website...

I exited SLAM 2 days ago and my aunt has been enjoying seeing her grandkids play again in her home and the wife and I had some more time together, so a win-win.

It rained this evening and my aunt has been keeping an eye on the pool for me. She sent me a picture of a dead gopher at the bottom of the pool. I had caught some little dead mouse in the skimmers at this pool before but nothing as big as a gopher - so a bit lost what to do next

It's almost midnight here and I would rather not go out right now (thankfully it's a Saturday, so Sunday would give me time to catch up on some sleep if it was needed) - is it OK to keep dead animals in the pool overnight?

And is the next step to drain the pool to not put swimmers at risk or just bring the FC up to 12ppm for a day and go back to 3ppm?

OK, I am driving over there to take the dead gopher out.

When I was slamming, at CYA 30, I used FC 12-13, so I will test the FC and add LC to target 12-13

Thankfully the last few days have been cloudy so I am hoping the FC doesn't drop too much but we will see

SpaceX is doing some missions right now, and there were two failures recently so work has been particularly demanding, so I really appreciate the help and the cloudy weather!

I will blame this on the rain but FC = 1.5, CC = 1.0, CYA = 30, pH = 7.4

Added 2 gal 10% LC and taking a sample home to test in the morning after I wake up, it's going to be a long drive in a drizzle

Keep the sample in a cool dark space. Dont expect it to be fully accurate after sitting overnight.

1. Is it that the Cl gets released overnight?
2. and because the sample its out of the pool, it's no longer following the chemistry that is happening in the pool?
3. and does it matter if I have a tight locking cover on the bottle that holds the sample

I'll be heading to the aunt's place this afternoon and given that it rained and is overcast, I'm hoping the SLAM is still going on

1. Is it that the Cl gets released overnight?
CL does not get released overnight.

CL gets consumed by the suns UV so keep it out of the sun.

2. and because the sample its out of the pool, it's no longer following the chemistry that is happening in the pool?

The pH of the same will likely rise as the pH moves towards equilibrium with the TA.

3. and does it matter if I have a tight locking cover on the bottle that holds the sample

Not really.

All the chemical measurements should be reasonably accurate other then the pH.

Why can't you bring your test kit with you and run the tests on site?
