Hi everyone!
I just purchased a house and inherited a pool with a voyager swim pro cartridge filter. This kind with the screw on top.
This thing is impossible to loosen/tighten and changing the filter today I noticed the threads on the lower body were very rough like sand had gotten between them and gouged out deep lines (kind of like if you took a steel brush and "cleaned" it). Just injured my elbow trying to tighten it enough to clip and keep my SLAM going.
I've replaced the O-rings and used liberal amounts of silicone lube.
Any ideas on how to fix the gouges? If I can even get the lid off again...
I was thinking taking 60-120-220 grit sandpaper to it, but don't know if that will make it worse.
