Hi There pool friends!

My pool has been perfect this year! Opened it in early April after our first year not covering it except for a leaf net. Best thing ever! No messy tarp/cover to deal with! My chemistry has been pretty good, although for the past 6 weeks or so I just haven't had the time to test it so I've just been adding in liquid chlorine every couple of days. Today I finally had the time to do a decent full test of the water and other than the chlorine level being low it was pretty good. My problem is the CYA. It has been less than 20 since opening it. I haven't used Borate this year so I'm wondering if this is the reason. The tube just stays nice and clear all the way to the top. What should I do to bring it up? Not sure that is the right way to say it. But I know it should be around 50 at the sweet spot between 40 and 60. I'm using liquid chlorine from Menards at 12.5%. If you look at my logs there is the huge gap of no records, but that's because I wasn't testing, just adding chlorine. Now that the summer warm up is here in Michigan I needed to get on it today!

Have you added any ?

Pause at 30 and Overnight Chlorine Loss Test. Each 10 CYA raises your slam target by 4 FC, and thats something you want to know *now*. Just trust me there. :)

Also, 30 CYA is probably plenty for Michagan. Your (our) UV loss is low compared to the hot climates. Only raise it if you're losing more than 3 or 4 ppm a day.
