Quick question…

What would make my CYA level to be so high? I have added stabilizer and conditioner in the pool in the past, but never excessively. And I haven’t added anything like that in several months.

I know the sun depletes CYA over time. But what causes it to rise?

Thanks!

I would stop using Chlorox tabs immediately, especially if they are labeled "Xtrablue".

All of the Chlorox tabs I'm aware of are trichlor, which add CYA. I don't think I've ever seen a cal-hypo Chlorox tab.

You need to be using liquid chlorine or a SWCG.

Well - at least now you know.
Chlorine is only available in a few ways.

Stabilized tablets are typically Chlorine+CYA and rarely Chlorine+CYA.
Granules are typically Chlorine+Calcium.

The only ways to avoid either too much CYA or too much Calcium are to use Liquid Chlorine, or invest in a Salt Water Chlorine Generator.
