CYA Zero

I have an above ground round hard side pool. Dimensions 18' by 52". 1 HP Hayward pump.
We purchased our property late August 2024. The pool was already on the property. I know that it wasn't operational in 2024, and wasn't covered. I tested the CYA (Taylor test kit) and it was zero.

If I read the instructions correctly, I put the stabilizer in the skimmer in a sock. I didn't understand when to start the Slam process.

Put the cya in a human sock and hang in front of a return.

Don’t put it in yet, post a full set of results first…FC CC pH TA CH

There wasn't any Chlorine present.
5 Drops were added for the Acid
20 drops were added for the Base
Alkalinity (8 drops) 80 ppm
Calcium (8 drops) 80 PPM
PH was at least 8.0 (a tad darker)

Switch to 10ml samples and each drop is 25. Its petty but every little bit of effort saved helps.

Lower it 0.4 at a time, mixing and confirming 30 mins later, until its a 7.2. Then slam away.
