CYA too high even after water change- looking for suggestions. NEWBIE here

We have had our Strong spa since the end of April. It was set up by the company we purchased from. We have been using the chemicals they recommended including chlorine with dichlor in it. Consequently the CYA climbed to over 100ppms. Our tap water tested at less than 30ppms cya. We changed out over 80% of the water in the tub, (pool calculator said 75%) and the CYA is now at 50ppm. Our tap water tests at: FC 1.2, TC 0.2, PH 7.4, TA 150, CH 230, CYA <30. After the refill and time to reach 103 we test at: FC 0.4, TC 0.4, PH >8, TA 140, CH 200, CYA 50. I understand water temp and aeration play a roll in these factors. But I am confused why the PH went so high and the cya is that high after more water change than pool calculator recommended. We are changing out another 50% of the water to lower the cya. Any other suggestions? BTW- we are testing with Taylor k-2006c.

Welcome to the forum!

Tap water has ZERO CYA. You must add it for it to be there.

Most likely the spa water had far higher CYA than you thought or you drained less than you thought.

Take care.

Also look into using a spa grade surfactant to fully clean and purge your plumping as you drain your spa. You really should do this each time you drain, rinse and fill your spa.
