What is a diluted test?

My CYA was at 40 on Nov. 17th. Now the test shows zero. New regent, however the water is 53 degrees. Does water temperature effect the test results? I carried it around in my pocket to warm it up, but still same results.

Diluted test is for when CYA is 90 or greater. It lets you determine higher CYA levels.

The CYA test sample should be warmed to room temperature before mixing.

This site has delivered again!
I warmed the sample (used my Black Labs arm pit) PRIOR to mixing, and normal results of 50 ppm returned.

I had tested before the the 2.5 lb. of stabilizer had completely dissolved in the sock and CYA was 40. The next two readings were ZERO. I knew something was wrong and did try warming but did so after mixing.

I will be using liquid chlorine while waiting on a new IC60 is on order and water temps are too cold.

Thank you again Trouble Free Pool.
