Hello! Thank you all so much for helping us become TFP wise! I have a question about testing. When doing the CYA test, the instructions say to read the test when the black dot “just” disappears. The dot gets a little hazy at 70, but doesn’t completely disappear until 50. Is there a way to ensure I’m reading the test correctly? Thank you, I appreciate y’all’s expertise!

We round up. So if the dot disappears between 60 and 50, call it 60 and move on.

Don't agonize over it. It is good enough to determine your FC range, which is the only reason you test it.

Thank you! I appreciate this advice because I am always a little concerned about reading all the different tests correctly. My free chlorine was 5. Thank you!!😊

FC of 5 with CYA 60 is ok.

I like running a bit hotter and would target more of 7-8.
