This is my 4th year doing cya test from Taylor kit and I still get puzzled by results..could somebody answer me this:
With my back to sun( standing in my own shadow) at waist level it appears that black dot disappears between 40-50; however if I look at directly in n the sun, the dot is very easy to see. I can see it between 30-40
So what would u determine the best result to be?
Thanks

When you do the CYA test, try this next time.

Once you have your solution ready, back to the sun, etc. Fill the vial to a line, say 80, lower the vial to your waist level and glance for the dot, you see it, add solution to the 70 line, glance, see it, repeat until you no longer see it with a glance. Then use the CYA value one step above the line you read. So if you stopped at 50, use 60 ppm CYA.

The vial is a non linear scale. So it is not reasonable to interpolate between the lines. Just use the whole numbers, such as 50, 40, 30, ....

I do the test just how u say, I cannot see the dot between 40 and 50 at waist level in my shadow from m the sun. I can see it directly in the sun the whole way to line between 30-40...so I how with waist level in my shadow even though I can see it in the direct sun?
Thanks for quick resonses
