Is a CYA test accurate during a SLAM. My CYA has always been around 40 at startup. I jumped the gun and started added bleach without testing. Been at SLAM level since about 2 pm yesterday. Tested at noon today and raised it to 16. Tested at 3:30 and was back to 10.5 Fairly sunny day. Will test again at sunset. Without knowing CYA, can I guess how much I'm losing to sunlight and will a cya test now be accurate?

If you have algae you can lose lots of FC while slamming especially early on. That's why dosing multiple times a day and testing works well its key to maintain the levels

Test your CYA and use the correct shock level FC/CYA Levels. Be sure to round UP your CYA test. If the dot disappears between 50 and 40 you call it 50.
