My CYA is still low. Here are my numbers this morning. Do I need to add more stabilizer??

CYA 55-60 (added 4 lbs in sock 5 days ago)
FC-8.5 (coming down from shock level two days ago)
CC-0
Ph-8 (also still high)

Still has dirt on bottom and now leaves from last nights storm. Will be able to vacuum ?? when sand filter gets installed Thursday!!

What did you target for CYA? Did you put it in a sock so you can tell when it's all dissolved, or did it get poured into the skimmer? If it's all dissolved and has had time to mix, then you're low. If there's a chance it's clumped up in the filter, wait a few days before adding more CYA.

pH adjustment can be done now. You'll need the TA to calculate acid dose.

......probably not if that was TODAY! 70 to 80 is what you're looking for. Use muriatic acid to lower your ph to 7.5
I'd edit that out of your signature line btw.

Yes that is old info. Will get that corrected. 70-80 with the SWG?

With SWG chart says to have CYA at 70-80. Yes CYA placed in sock in front of return. Using cartridge filter, can it clump in that?

NO.

I only asked because a lot of people do that. And then the filter gets clogged and they backwash it away. I know what the chart says. What did you target? Did you go light so you didn't go over?

If the water is 4' deep, your pool is closer to 11400 gallons, and 4 lbs of CYA will only get you to 42. If you started with three and added 4 but lost some to backwashing, then 60 is probably pretty close to accurate. I would add no more than 10 ppm CYA today.

I started with 3 lbs then added an additional pound when it still seemed very low. I have not back washed as I can not do that with my Intex cartridge filter. I will say it has probably caught 2 inches of rain water over the past 2-3 days.

4 lbs of CYA adds 42. If the pool is only 10000 gallons, then it added 48 CYA. If there was no residual in the water, you're low.
