CYA level 30-40. Worth increasing?

Morning y'all. Thanks to all the advice on TFP, we are maintaining a very clear pool with minimal difficulty. My current CYA level is between 30-40. I previously added around 4 lbs cya and do use pucks at present to supplement chlorine. Wanted to allow the CYA to come up a bit. I'm only running the pump around 10 hrs daily though, so there is not much automatically added chlorine and CYA. My daily additions of chlorine are in the 2-3 ppm range, which I understand is average. It is hot here in MS, and my pool gets full daytime sun.

Question is: would it be worth it to bring the cya up a bit? Would that decrease chlorine use enough to justify? I like that the CYA is low at present, allowing me to depend on the chlorinator if needed when away from home.

Sounds like your pool is working the way you want. Why mess with it if it is good enough for you?

Seems like you have identified the right trade-offs. Can't tell you what is more important to you...lower chlorine demand or flexibility for travel.
