CYA Dissipation

You can add South Carolina to the CYA dissipation phenomenon list. Mine dropped from >120 to 40 over our short winter, and from 70 to 50 over the last couple weeks. The winter drop was welcomed since I was planning to drain the whole pool to correct the high level! Could the wide temperature swings cause it? My pool could be 88 one day and 78 the next during the spring.
