Hi guys. Need some advice. Our pool was just finished and filled June 26th. We were swimming today and noticed one of the tiles has a vertical crack. After looking back at my pictures of the project I can tell the crack happened some time at the point after decking and shows up after pebble application. It's not visible before then. I'm going to tell my builder about it Monday. My questions are: how important is this to fix? (because I'm sure they will give me a hard time) How much time do I have before water gets behind it? What could have caused this? How hard will this be to fix? The grout is a little cracked around it also.

Many threads on cracked glass tile. The cracks do not affect the functionality of the tile if it stays tight. Best thing may be to leave it as is and just keep an eye on it.

Of course I'm concerned about it popping off, but I'm also concerned about it being some kind of damage structurally. I'm really hoping they just hit it somehow when they did the pebble application and isn't something worse.

Read some of the threads I linked to above.

It is common for glass tile to crack due to its thermal properties. It does not handle temperature changes as well as ceramic tile does.

Thank you. I actually read all the threads before opening mine.
