Crack repair - Gunite pool

Had this crack prior to the pool remodel, PB says he "epoxied" the crack, but after it rains, water seeps out of it.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but if he epoxied it, should it not allow ground water to pass through it?

PB says the gunite (when installed) seals the pool.

The gunite and plaster will be the one two punch to keep the water out. I would also think about having a french drain done around the pool to help with the ground water as well.
